I’m Sam Lacey

I’ve been writing and editing for around 25 years and I love my job.

I’ve been freelance since 2014. Before this I worked in-house as a Production Controller for an education publisher, so I understand the work that’s involved in getting your publication out on time and within budget.

I’m an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CIEP) and hold a professional copy-editing qualification through the Publishing Training Centre.

My editorial services include: cold proofreading (i.e. a completely fresh pair of eyes); copy-editing and line editing (paper proofs or digital using Word or PDF mark-up); adapting ELT content for different markets (Americanization/Anglicization or adaptation for the Middle East); styling ELT manuscripts using Word templates; Workbook activity checks; phonics checking; audio/video checking; course correlation/mapping.
